A Project-Based Learning Curriculum: Designed to Inspire Your Child's Imagination in Becoming an Author
The Teach and Play kit is perfectly structured as a Project-Based Learning experience, meaning every step is linked to a single, meaningful goal: the creation of a published book!
This is why the curriculum is so effective: it's interdisciplinary—integrating storytelling, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, print awareness, and narrative skills in one cohesive sequence. It promotes extended inquiry, requiring dedication over one to two weeks, which naturally builds persistence and ownership of the work for the child
Most importantly, it is defined by student voice and ownership. Since the child drives the whole creation and design of the work, they will feel complete responsibility and pride in their final product, turning tasks like stitching, painting and drawing into significant developmental milestones.
This project is an extended duration with the project lasting one -two weeks, allowing for an in-depth thinking and involvement
Help Launch "Teach and Play," the Workshop That Empowers Little Authors!
I am seeking parents, caregivers, and teachers to help me shape the final version of Teach and Play, the innovative, step-by-step workshop designed to guide children aged 3–8 in producing their first fully illustrated and written book.
This is your opportunity to try this high-value, hands-on learning kit and provide the crucial feedback that will prepare it for national launch.
This intake questionnaire takes about 5–10 minutes to complete. As a thank you for your valuable time and perspective, qualified participants will be invited to participate in a 2-week research study and will receive a $50 gift card plus the Teach & Play Reading and Writing learning kit.
Your responses will be kept confidential. Thank you for your interest—let's get started below!
What is Your Role in a 2-week Study?
This research study will require approximately 4 hours of your time over 2 weeks. This includes engaging with the kit's hands-on activities, completing the feedback surveys, and participating in the required in-person check-ins (the Meet-n-Greet and the Closing Luncheon).
Activity Pace: Engage in the kit’s activities 2–3 times per week, in short, 15-to-20 minute sessions.
Feedback: Complete a short, easy-to-use survey after each major activity (e.g., after the sewing activity, after the painting activity).
Who Should Apply?
I am seeking participants who meet the following criteria:
You are a parent, caregiver, or teacher currently working with a child between the ages of 3 and 8.
You can commit to completing the kit's activities and feedback surveys over a 2-week period.
You are comfortable with the core philosophy of child-led learning and documenting your child’s creative process.
Meet the Creator
Hello! I'm Maria Lallier, and I designed the Teach and Play kit based on my 20 + years of experience as a dedicated preschool teacher. During those two decades, I learned that the most meaningful learning happens when we empower children to take the lead. This curriculum is not based on theory, but on practical, proven classroom experience. My mission was simple; to create a comprehensive workshop where core literacy skills, like pencil control, visual tracking and storytelling, feel like pure creative play.
